Timber Frame Homes
Timber frame homes feature large wooden beams visible throughout the interior which act as the structural skeleton of the home. The timbers are cut to fit together and connect with specialized joinery such as mortise-and-tennon connections fastened with wooden pegs.
The timber frame serves the dual role of providing structure for the home as well as artistic beauty.

Where We Operate
Big Timber Builders is a licensed General Contractor (License #77714) with home offices in Sweetwater, TN. We have strategically placed Project Managers around the eastern half of Tennessee and build multiple custom homes at once. We utilize centralized home design services and manufacturing services from Natural Element Homes.
For other areas and states, we are a member of Natural Element Builders, which is a national network of custom home builders. If you are building outside of Tennessee, there are other members of the Natural Element Builders network who may be available to build your custom home. Every builder in the Natural Element Builders network utilizes centralized home design and manufacturing and supply services from Natural Element Homes for seamless integration and high-quality construction.

Robert Lambert
Founder & President, Big Timber Builders and Natural Element Homes
Mr. Lambert feels that he was born to be a builder, and he has been blessed with ample opportunity to participate in several thousand custom home projects during his 40-year career. Mr. Lambert says that building custom homes is one of the most rewarding things he has ever done. “It’s not easy,” he says, “but it is very satisfying to hand over the keys to a happy, happy client. This makes all the hard work and effort worthwhile. I absolutely love building!”
